Head out on this 9.2-km out-and-back trail near Port Arthur, Tasmania. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and walking, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. You’ll need to leave pups at home — dogs aren’t allowed on this trail.

This is a hidden gem within the Tasman Peninsula out to the beautiful and quiet Crescent Beach of Crescent Bay, wrapped by giant sand dunes and crystal clear waters. You’ll also hike to the summit of Mount Brown which has rewarding views of the rugged and rocky coastline.

You’ll start by walking through coastal heathlands with great views of Cape Raol – you might also spot some echidnas here through summer as they ramble about. Then you’ll pass bly the rocky Maingon Blowhole before reaching the lower undulating lowers knolls of Mount Brown. Take a break down at the serene Crescent Beach before making the return walk.

The hike is moderately steep for the duration and there will be several sections with small loose rock shards so take care with your footing and wear some sturdy footwear
