We love our wildlife at Stewarts Bay Lodge, therefore, pets are NOT permitted on the property or inside the units.
Our water supply comes from the Port Arthur Historic Site treatment plant. It is treated and regularly tested for safe consumption. Occasionally, our water will appear to have an opaque yellow colour which is due to higher concentrations of tannins that are not harmful to ingest. Please be mindful that our water source is limited and be sure to avoid wastage.
Power outages are occasionally experienced on the Tasman Peninsula and are generally restored within two hours. There is emergency lighting plugged into a powerpoint in the kitchen which will turn on when the power goes out. These can be used as torches and are movement sensor activated.

The air conditioning units are reverse cycle, both heating and cooling. Your remote is located in a holder on the wall. It is not instant and takes a while for the fans to start once the unit has been turned on. Please make sure you have all the doors and windows closed for maximum benefit. For Heat: Change ‘Mode’ to either ‘Heat’ or the sun symbol (depending on the model). Adjust temperature up or down. For Cool: Change ‘Mode’ to either ‘Cool’ or the snowflake symbol (depending on the model). Adjust temperature up or down.
Spa baths are in the en-suite of the main bedrooms in the Chalets only. They are turned on by sharply pressing the large silver or white button on the bath edge. Once started, subsequent presses will move through its speed cycles. To turn off, press button on bath edge until the motor stops.
NOTE: Several minutes after turning off the spa, it will START UP on its own to do an automatic self-cleaning cycle, then turn itself OFF. Please do not press the button while the auto cleaning cycle is on.
If you have pressed the button while self-cleaning cycle is on, you will have disrupted this process. Press the button again until the motor stops. If the motor starts again by itself this is the cleaning cycle. Do not press the button again, it will stop by itself when the cleaning is finished.
